Enrollment Policy and Procedures
Legacy Academy Charter School will accept enrollment applications from all students in grades K-6 residing in Brevard County who would otherwise qualify to attend a school in the Brevard County Public School District. The School will have an open admissions procedure, utilizing a lottery as required by state regulation. Any eligible student who submits an application shall be considered for enrollment, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of the program, class, grade level, or building. At that time a lottery process will be used. The School will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national/ethnic origin, or disability in the admission of students. The School will be nonsectarian in its programs, admission policies, employment practices and operations. Legacy Academy will not charge tuition or fees except those fees normally charged by other public schools. Legacy Academy will ensure that all eligible students with disabilities will receive a free and appropriate public education in accordance with the regulations set forth in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Applications must be fully completed and signed to be considered submitted. As the number of qualified applicants grows to exceed the number of available spaces in a particular grade level, a lottery procedure will be put into effect.
Applications are being taken now for Legacy Academy VPK.
Parents will be informed of acceptance by July 5th. We are very happy to be able to offer this addition to our K-6 school family so that we can include our littlest LIONS !!!
If you have not already done so, go to the link to the right and start the process to get your certificate of eligibility from Early Childhood Coalition. You cannot attend a VPK program without that certificate.
